FACILITIES & SERVICES

UMP at MEC City has been specially refurbished to provide an excellent study and learning environment. The University provides a wide variety of campus facilities for its academic staff and students. UMP has set up facilities to ensure that students enjoy the convenience of travel and accommodation when undertaking a program at the university.

UMP is equipped with wireless internet accesses, which allow students and staff to access the internet from their laptops. Wireless internet access points have been installed at strategic locations on campus to facilitate internet access. UMP students, with notebooks, thus have the advantage of being able to access the internet anywhere, anytime on campus that is within range of the wireless internet access points. This flexibility allows them to access and download material from the web directly to their notebooks at their convenience.
Library
The main function of Knowledge Management centre is to provide information related services to the campus society and the relevant industries. It offers services and sources for learning, teaching, research and consultation. It also acts as a catalyst to promote the knowledge culture in UMP. As a knowledge centre, Library is playing an important part in building a knowledgeable society that will produce competent professionals in line with UMP mission.

Smart knowledge sharing will be promoted by library to ensure the knowledge organization envisioned by the University. Relevant infrastructure is provided to facilitate the knowledge sharing process and thus the creation of K-Organization.

Library spearheads the organization of materials of e-learning for use by students and lecturers at UMP. Apart from printed reading materials, tremendous number of online materials is also accessible within the campus at all times.

Library also plays an important role in managing Knowledge Portals for all focus areas in UMP. Knowledge Portals are one-stop centres for a specific community of practice. These portals act as a platform for users to access desired information on a particular topic of interest. They also list experts, update technologies and facilitate forums and discussion. Users are welcome to contribute articles and academic writings in their respective fields.
Lecture Halls & Laboratories
Engineering theory taught in the lecture halls need to be further strengthened and executed in the laboratories. To provide hands on practical experience for the students, UMP has set up the lecture halls and laboratories where theory learning, projects and experiments can be designed for the students to execute.

Lecture rooms are available at all the teaching faculties. In addition, there are large lecture halls to accommodate larger number of students in certain compulsory courses. There are more than 15 lecture halls and 6 language centres. Lecture halls can accommodate from 40 to 60 students per session. They have been equipped with LCD projectors for lectures and multimedia presentations. The lecture theatres are equipped with multimedia facilities and network data points.

They are 4 laboratories, namely Civil & Environmental Engineering Laboratories, Electrical & Electronic Engineering Laboratories, Mechanical Engineering Laboratories, and Chemical & Natural Resources Engineering Laboratories. Each laboratory contains the necessary equipment and machines for hands on practical experience and other knowledge exploration.

All lecture halls and management buildings are covered walkways for the convenience of students, staff and the general public.
Cafeteria
There are various food stalls on the campus offering various choices of food at reasonable prices. Cafeteria operating hours is from 7.00 a.m. to midnight. The university has provided facilities to several agencies to run catering services on campus as well as in the halls of residence. Cafeterias are given instructions to maintain hygienic standards and price controls. The student cafeteria can accommodate more than 400 people at one time. The cafeteria is also equipped with a 24" color television for information and entertainment during breaks.
Medical Centre
The medical centre provides medical treatment for staff and students. It is located behind of Student the Student Affair Office. Services are available between 8.30am - 4.30pm on Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 1pm on Saturday. Students only pay a nominal medical fee of RM 50.00 per semester.
