BACKGROUND

CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT or CENFED was established in 2004 with the responsibility to develop and disseminate programmes on continuing education and professional development to the public especially for working adults. CENFED in his early existence was known as Skills Development Center with the function to coordinate skills development system at UMP.

In 2004, CENFED function has been widened to also include the development and coordination of retraining courses, continuing education programmes, skills development programmes and professional development course for UMP. CENFED has become a catalyst for UMP in its effort to provide education opportunity to local industry and community.

CENFED programmes ranges from programmes that are authorized by related authority such as DOSH & JPT to tailor-made programmes that are in line with customer needs. Currently CENFED are authorized training provider for:

• Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB)
• Department of Safety & Health (DOSH)
• Majlis Latihan Vokasional Kebangsaan (MLVK)
• Construction Industrial Development Board (CIDB)
• National Institute Of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH)
